Coming Together For A Cause: A Message From CEO, David Powell

A CEO knows a team is stronger when everyone works together towards a common goal. Just recently, members of our Zmags team spent an afternoon together giving back to one of our local community programs in Boston. Community Servings is a not-for-profit food and nutrition program assisting individuals and families suffering from critical and chronic illnesses. The program’s goal is to help clients “maintain their health and dignity and preserve the integrity of their families through culturally appropriate, home-delivered meals, nutrition education, and other community programs.”

The Zmags team worked together in the kitchen to help prepare hundreds of homemade meals designed to provide 50-67% of daily nutrition to those in need of dietary specific meals. Each meal consists of healthy fats, low sodium, substantial calories and protein needed to support chronic illnesses and healing processes. Not only did the outing foster cooperation and teamwork across departments, it was also an opportunity for our team to work with other volunteer groups from neighboring areas, all with a common purpose and shared goal.

Community Servings is expanding their office through their Food is The Foundation Campaign. This addition will allow the program to expand their capacity and provide three times the amount of meals delivered to Boston neighborhoods. At Zmags, giving back to our local community is a top priority for our company and its employees, and I look forward to us continuing these efforts in the future.
